Control the Battlefield

The crabs summoned by the Whack-A-Crab perk are incredibly useful for crowd control. However, they won’t be effective if you’re not actively guiding the zombies into their path. Try to lure zombies towards choke points or narrow corridors where the crabs can overwhelm the enemies.

By controlling the flow of the zombies and positioning yourself correctly, you’ll ensure that the crabs are most effective in terms of stalling enemy movements and reducing zombie pressure.

Use the Perk to Set Traps

Another advanced tactic is to combine the Whack-A-Crab perk with in-map traps. For example, if you’re near a window or door that has a trap activated, you can summon the crabs to distract the zombies while they get zapped, burned, or exploded by the trap. This one-two punch will quickly clear out any remaining enemies while you focus on replenishing ammo or preparing for the next round.

Take Advantage of the Stun Effect

One overlooked feature of the Whack-A-Crab perk is the stun effect the crabs have on zombies. When activated, crabs will temporarily stun zombies, preventing them from attacking or moving as quickly. This opens up the opportunity to quickly revive teammates or heal yourself without the constant threat of getting overwhelmed.
