COLUMBUS, Ohio Bruins left winger Brad Marchand led a power-play chance after taking a pa s off the boards fromTorey Krug, and then found Patrice Bergeron for the shot and score from the right slot. Marchand raced from the other side of the ice to greet Bergeron. It was Marchand's first point of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Blue Jackets, and it helped stake the Bruins to an early two-goal lead in Game 4 at Nationwide Arena on Thursday. That moment won't get half as much attention as the rest of Marchand Mike Conley Jersey 's night. He had three penalties the first of which led to a penalty shot in his first action since late in Game 3 when he punched Blue Jackets defenseman Scott Harrington in the back of the head. He scored 100 points in the regular season and had four goals and five a sists in the first round. Yet the headlines have centered around his penalties in the series. Marchand's high-sticking penalty in Game 3 led to the game-winning goal by Matt Duchene. Marchand was called for tripping at 6:52 in the first period, which led to a penalty shot by Boone Jenner. Boston goaltenderTuukkaRask made the save. Marchand also picked up a delay of game at 16:00 of the first and another tripping penalty on Cam Atkinson at 18:01 in the second period. Boston killed both penalties, and Rask finished with 39 saves. Marchand, wearing a Bruins cap and with blood trickling off the top of his nose, answered three minutesof questions in matter-of-fact-fashion afterward. The puck hit the protective netting above the end boards seconds earlier but the referee did not stop play.
